And what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, and to love kindness
and mercy, and to humble yourself and walk humbly with your God? (Micah 6:8)

Welcome to the ODBD October 2016 Release

Hello friends!  It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas at Our Daily Bread Designs.  The October 2016 release includes four new Christmas stamp sets, four fabulous die sets, three of which are Christmas word borders, and a gorgeous Christmas Card Paper CollectionThe stunning samples made by the ODBD Designers will inspire you to get started on those Christmas cards if you have not already done so.

Three randomly selected winners will each receive a $25 gift certificate to the ODBD Store to be used toward the purchase of ODBD Stamps found in the "stamps column" of the website just for commenting on the Design Team cards!  You have until October 2, 2016 at 9:00 p.m. EDT to leave your comments on the Designers' Blogs for a chance to win!  The Winners will be posted on the ODBD Blog on October 3rd, so be sure to check back there to see if you won!

My first sample was made using the new Christmas Note stamp set and the beautiful new Christmas Card Collection 2016.

Creative Nugget:  The beautiful papers from the Christmas Card Collection 2016 and the image panel were cut with Lavish Layers Dies and the purple layer stitched to the card front.  The mailbox from the Christmas Note stamp set was colored with Copic Markers and splattered with white acrylic paint.  The sentiment banner was hand cut and an organdy ribbon added to finish the card.

The new Home for the Holidays stamp set and the Holy Night Dies were used to make this Double Display Card:

Creative Nugget: The panels of the Double Display Card were lined with papers from the Christmas Card Collection 2016. Snowy layers were cut with a Leafy Edged Border Die and sponged with distress ink.  The Fence Die was used to cut a fence border between the snowy hills.  The light pole from the Home For the Holidays stamp set was colored with Copic Markers, fussy cut, and popped onto the card.  An organdy bow holds the card closed.

When opened, another sentiment from the Home For the Holidays set was cut with Circles and Pierced Circles Dies and added above the Holy Night die cut.

The Holy Night die cut was cut apart so the shepherds and wisemen could be added to the side panels.

Oh I absolutely love the mailbox with little bird. It can be colored so many ways with so many different styles. I always say your own personality comes out in your cards. I have been making cards for 6 years now and have seen many changes in my own cards as I have made more. I have never had a stamp from you and think it is time I try looking into getting one.

WOW! I have only been to 3 of the blog sites and they just get better and better. I have to say the rich purples you used really add the drama to this card and make the mailbox look so different from the others. Not my choice for a holiday color but your art just makes it all work wonderfully. TFS
Then there is the double fold card that is out of this world! What a great art piece to share with someone really special. I have not seen this design before but you decorated it jut right. Not too much as some are sure to do. Just lovely. TFS.

I have never tried to make a trip-fold card (or whatever this one is considered) but you sure make me want to try. This card is SO BEAUTIFUL. It is just a peaceful scene that invites me in, and makes me feel happy. The other card is equally well-done and pretty. Thanks so much for your additions to the hop!

Lovely cards! The purple in the first card is beautiful and I also like the layers you did. I'm going to have to purchase the Lavish Layer Dies! I also liked the unusual 1st layer that is laying sideways. Oh, and I love the ribbon -- it really sets off the card. The fold in your second card is spectacular! I have never seen that fold before. I like how the outside of the card is modern with the lamp post and the fence and when you untie the ribbon -- you are transported back to the time of the nativity scene. I also like that you thought of cutting apart the die and used the wise men and the shepard on different panels. Thank you for sharing!
